As a coach, my philosophy is that with positive attitudes and hard work, a team can achieve incredible things. To me, “without team in teamwork, it’s just work—and that’s no fun” (paraphrased from Matthew Stover). I believe in building a supportive environment where players challenge themselves, grow together, and enjoy the process as much as the victories.
Volleyball has been a part of my life from a very young age. With my dad coaching (and still coaching today) and my brother playing at the university level, the sport has always been a huge part of my family and who I am. Growing up in that environment gave me not only a love for the game but also a deep respect for the teamwork, dedication, and discipline it requires.
I’ve been involved in coaching for close to eight years, beginning in high school where I assisted the Grade 7 coach, and continuing ever since. Over the past two years, I’ve also worked with Volleyball Alberta, helping run events and reffing whenever possible. These experiences have given me a well-rounded perspective on the game, both on and off the court.
I am excited to work with this group of boys and look forward to seeing not only what we can accomplish this season, but also the individual and collective growth they will experience. Watching athletes develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game is what makes coaching so rewarding, and I can’t wait to see where this season takes us.

I believe in helping athletes excel by developing both a love for the game and the discipline within the sport. I have been coaching for six years, including five years of school volleyball and three years of club volleyball. With a background in Kinesiology and Education from the University of Alberta, I base my coaching philosophy on holistic methods that focus on growth through passion for the sport. I enjoy seeing excellence in athletes who strive to be the best version of themselves.

My coaching philosophy is to develop well-rounded athletes who succeed both on and off the court, emphasizing hard work, enjoyment, and growth. As a player, I competed for two seasons with the Red Deer Kings club team, earning national silver and gold medals, followed by two championship-winning seasons at Red Deer College and two years with the University of Alberta, finishing 1st and 2nd at nationals. I also played for Team Alberta and spent a summer with the Junior National Team. I have coached U11 and U15 community league teams, as well as junior high and high school volleyball and basketball. Now in my first year with FOGG, I’m excited to bring my experience, enthusiasm, and passion to the program, helping athletes achieve their goals while building lifelong skills and memories.
