The FOGG (Friends of George and Guba) Volleyball program was founded in 2021 with a visionary idea crafted by Terry Danyluk, General Manager and former Head Coach of the University of Alberta Golden Bears Volleyball team. His concept was to create a program that merges the elite, high-performance methodology of the Golden Bears with the community-centric spirit of the FOG Volleyball Club.
Our program is designed to develop male volleyball players using a holistic approach that incorporates physical, social, mental, technical, and tactical aspects of the game. This blend of high-level training and comprehensive development is tailored to meet the unique needs of our athletes, ensuring they are equipped not only for competition but also for success as lifelong learners.
We proudly cater to U12 to U16 players during the club season, providing age-appropriate training that aligns with our commitment to holistic development. From introducing foundational skills to refining advanced techniques, our program is structured to guide young athletes through their formative years in the sport.
While the operations of the FOGG Volleyball program are managed by our Program Coordinator and current U16 Head Coach Sherwaine Arthurs, the direction and philosophy are heavily influenced by the guidance of both Terry Danyluk and current Golden Bears Head Coach, Brock Davidiuk. Together, they bring decades of experience and a shared commitment to fostering excellence on and off the court.
At FOGG Volleyball, we are committed to nurturing our athletes' growth, both as volleyball players and as individuals, helping them achieve their full potential through a balanced and well-rounded approach.
