Headshots : Marcus Viray-Hebrada
My coaching philosophy focuses on building confident and resilient athletes who are well-equipped to face the challenges of sport and daily life. I encourage players to step outside their comfort zones, promoting growth not only in their ability to think and play the game, but also in their development as leaders on and off the court.
I played club volleyball for FOG for four years, winning a national championship in U17 and a silver medal in U16. I then competed as a middle blocker at MacEwan University from 2020 to 2025, playing in over 60 USPORTS matches. Currently, I serve as the head coach of the Archbishop Jordan Scots Senior Boys team, where I once played in high school, and I have also coached as an assistant with Park Elite and NAVC before moving to FOGG.
I’m looking forward to seeing this team grow through both the highs and the challenges, becoming closer each step of the way and learning to play for each other.
Coaching young athletes is about more than just the sport—it’s about helping them grow into well-rounded individuals. My goal is to instill a love for the game in every athlete I work with while fostering their development both on and off the court.
I have seven years of coaching experience, beginning with general skill camps before progressing to elite and position-specific training. I have worked as an assistant coach with the Harry Ainlay High School junior girls team, co-coached a U15 club team in Moncton, NB, and served as the head coach of a boys' high school team that finished in the top eight in New Brunswick.
I especially enjoy working with younger age groups and watching them develop as they progress through their club years. I look forward to supporting and guiding the next generation of athletes!
